The Ministry of Finance in Eswatini is conducting a two-day orientation session for members of the Senate Portfolio Committee. The event, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mbabane, aims to improve legislative oversight by deepening senators’ understanding of the Ministry’s strategic roles.
During the sessions, participants are learning about key areas such as macroeconomic planning, budget formulation, public financial management reforms, debt management, procurement processes, treasury operations, and the implementation of the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS).
This initiative seeks to equip senators with the knowledge necessary to effectively scrutinise and support public financial management. It also aims to strengthen collaboration between the executive and legislative branches to enhance transparency and accountability in government spending, ensuring that fiscal policies align with Eswatini’s national development priorities.
