Manzini – The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has announced progress on key road infrastructure projects, with paving works now underway on Nkoseluhlaza Street in Manzini.
The ministry reported that the start of asphalt paving marks a shift from preparatory stages to full rehabilitation, as efforts continue to upgrade the road to modern paving standards. Officials say the works are moving efficiently, with the project remaining on schedule and closely monitored to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Motorists and pedestrians using Nkoseluhlaza Street have been urged to proceed with caution and follow all temporary road signage within the construction zone.
Meanwhile, progress has also been recorded along the MR1 corridor, one of the country’s key transport routes. The project team has completed resurfacing works from the Motjane Interchange, marking a major step in the phased rehabilitation of the road.
According to the ministry, the scope of work along the MR1 is aimed at restoring road quality, improving driving conditions and enhancing safety for all road users. The intervention forms part of a broader national programme focused on upgrading and maintaining strategic roads across the Kingdom.
Road users travelling along the MR1 corridor are advised to remain cautious in areas where construction activities are still ongoing, as work continues on remaining sections of the route.
