Manzini – Relocations of the Manzini busrank have been announced with the decision taking effect on Sunday the 27th of June, 2026 as the city’s main bus rank is to temporarily relocate to give way to developments.
The Municipal Council of Manzini announced on Thursday the development affecting Meintjies Street which prompted the introduction of temporary public transport at three identified areas in the city: the Old Trade Fair Site, Satellite Bus Rank and Riverstone Mall.
“This temporary relocation will allow the municipality to begin upgrading the main bus stand and construction of a modern facility that will better serve commuters, public transport operators, businesses, and the city as a whole,” Phiwa Masilela, representative of public transport operators, said in a press conference on Thursday, adding that these measures have been agreed upon by the city’s stakeholders.
The renovated Old Trade Fair allocates western roads such as Kakhoza, Ngwane Park, Nhlangano, Mbabane, Mankayane, Zakhele, Fairview, and the adjacent districts. The Satellite rank accommodates eastern approaches via the Manzini Traffic Interchange and the Moneni route, while the Riverstone Mall will allow cross-border transport as recognised by the Cross Border Roads Interstate.
The municipality advised motorists, operators and commuters to familiarise themselves with the designated entry and exit routes so that they comply with all traffic management measures, while traffic cops as well as the public transport task team will be deployed to ensure a smooth transition and traffic flow.
“Please be aware that commuters will only board public transport at specified temporary bus stops. Passenger pick-up and boarding will be prohibited along exit routes. The statement continues, “Let us work together to ensure a safe, orderly, and successful transition.”
