NGUDZENI – Four development projects worth over E2.6 million have been officially handed over to residents of Ngudzeni by the Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, S’khumbuzo Dlamini.
The handover took place today and marks the completion of community infrastructure initiatives funded through the Regional Development Fund (RDF), which channels public investment into rural areas.
The projects include a E1.7 million upgrade at Mawonti Primary School consisting of three classroom blocks, 10 toilet units, and perimeter fencing. The other three projects are diptanks for Lemhlophe (E310,000), Mphini (E330,000), and Nhlupheko (E300,000). 
Addressing residents during the ceremony, Minister Dlamini said the infrastructure would directly support livestock farmers by improving meat production and promoting sustainable subsistence farming across the area.
He also praised the efforts of Mawonti Primary School parents, who provided manual labour and building materials such as river sand and plastering sand. According to the Minister, their hands-on involvement helped speed up construction.
Dlamini described education as central to poverty reduction and said the school’s new facilities would provide learners with a safe and stimulating environment. He encouraged other schools in the region to collaborate with their respective Inkhundla centres to pursue similar upgrades or income-generating projects.
“These completed projects show that His Majesty’s Government is paying attention to local priorities. They reflect our approach of working directly with communities to address their needs,” Dlamini said.
