MTN Eswatini appoints interim CEO

MBABANE – MTN Eswatini has announced that Jerry J. Soko will take over as Interim Chief Executive Officer starting 1 November 2025, as the company begins the search for a permanent successor.

Soko, currently General Manager of Commercial and Operations for Southern and East Africa, succeeds Wandile Mtshali, whose five-year tenure at MTN Eswatini concludes this year. Mtshali began his career as a Network Engineer and later served as Chief Technical Officer in MTN operations across Guinea-Bissau, South Sudan, and Eswatini before ascending to CEO.

During his leadership, MTN Eswatini received multiple recognitions, including the Best Network Award, top ranking in Net Promoter Score, SABPP Certification, Investors In People Platinum Certification, and the Group President & CEO y’ello Care Award. The company credited his guidance for navigating the business through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
