Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla led a delegation from Eswatini to the Ministerial Consultative meeting on the Africa Pre-Commission on the Status of Women’s 70th Session, which took place in Ethiopia on November 27, 2025. The event, focusing on promoting justice for women and girls, addressed key issues such as eliminating discriminatory laws and addressing structural barriers to access to justice.
This meeting followed the technical expert’s session held earlier from November 24-25, 2025. The goal of the gathering was to adopt a Common Africa Position (CAP) to guide negotiations on the CSW70 agreed conclusions, which outline strategies for African nations to ensure effective, gender-sensitive justice systems for women and girls.
During the session, African member states acknowledged progress in areas such as gender-based violence, education, and healthcare justice for women. However, the meeting called for stronger actions, including repealing gender-discriminatory laws, investing in judicial sector capacity, and accelerating implementation of gender equality policies. 
Following the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Dladla paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Moses Vilakati, the African Union Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment. The two leaders discussed potential initiatives aimed at benefiting young people, with a particular focus on empowering young women in Eswatini.
