The Piggs Peak Town Council, together with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Ministry of Health Eswatini, Eswatini Revenue Service, Royal Eswatini Police Service, the Municipal Council of Mbabane, and the Council Management Team, carried out a comprehensive inspection of businesses across the town today to ensure compliance with regulations.
The exercise focused on several key areas. Officials from the Ministry of Health inspected food outlets and restaurants, checking hygiene standards, structural compliance, proper packaging and storage, and the sale of expired goods. Non-compliant and expired items were confiscated and condemned according to health regulations.
The Eswatini Revenue Service verified that businesses were properly registered and up to date with their tax obligations. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade, working with the Town Council, checked business registrations and licenses. While most businesses were compliant, some had expired licenses or operated under licenses that did not match their activities. 
The Municipal Council of Mbabane provided technical support and shared best practices to strengthen the exercise. The Royal Eswatini Police Service ensured inspections and confiscations followed legal procedures and maintained security throughout the process.
The Piggs Peak Town Council coordinated the operation, identifying compliance gaps and opportunities for further education and engagement with local business owners to promote a safer and more accountable business environment.
