Mbabane – Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla has left for Botswana to represent His Majesty King Mswati III at the state funeral of former Botswana President Festus Mogae, who died last week aged 86.
Dladla is accompanied by Minister for Public Service Mabulala Maseko on the trip to Gaborone, where the funeral is scheduled for Saturday, 16 May 2026.
Mogae served as President of Botswana from 1998 to 2008. His body is currently lying in state at Parliament in Gaborone, where members of the public have been invited to pay their final respects until 6:00 PM today.
