Mbabane Highlanders captain among 6 departing players

Mbabane – Mbabane Highlanders AM FC captain Siphamandla Maseko is among six departing players as the team prepares for the next season.

A statement from the South African businesswoman Shaun ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize-led football club on Saturday confirmed midfielder’s – Maseko – departure together with Ghanaian goal keeper Innocent Adja, and defender Ishmael Zwane, whose contracts ended. Management said their contracts will not be renewed. 

Two others, Bongumusa Fakudze, a defender, returns to Madlenya FC, while goalie Sisekelo Maseko returns to Royal Leopard FC after loan stays expired.

Mbabane Highlanders AM FC announced the departure of six of its players.

Meanwhile, the team’s attacking midfielder, Sakhile Shongwe, will be loaned out for the next season, a move described as “part of a strategic development plan aimed at providing him with increased playing time and valuable competitive experience.” 

The statement by the club.

“Mbabane Highlanders AM F.C. extends its sincere gratitude to all the departing players for their commitment, professionalism, and contribution during their time with the club. Their dedication both on and off the field has been greatly appreciated, and they leave with the club’s best wishes as they embark on the next stages of their football careers,” the statement said.
