Botswana consulate goes remote ahead of Joburg protests

Johannesburg – The Botswana Consulate General in Johannesburg has announced that its staff will work remotely on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 June 2026 due to a planned mass protest scheduled for 30 June 2026.

The consulate advised all Batswana in Johannesburg to take note of the temporary arrangement, adding that 1 July 2026 is a public holiday and that normal operations will only resume on Thursday 2 July 2026.
