Mbabane – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy has issued a public warning about a fraudulent document circulating online that falsely claims to be an official Request for Proposals from the government.
The fake RFP, titled “Supply and Delivery of Reinforced Concrete Diamond Saw Blades,” has been distributed through email and other online platforms. The Ministry said the document was neither issued nor authorised by it, and that it also misuses the name and identity of one of its officials.
The Ministry also flagged a suspicious email address, mnre@eswat.net, which has been linked to the fraudulent RFP. It said the address is not affiliated with the Ministry in any way, and any communication coming from it should be disregarded. 
“The Ministry further clarifies that it has not initiated any procurement process for the supply and delivery of reinforced concrete diamond saw blades,” the notice read.
The Ministry also denied any involvement with World Bank or International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) grant funding, saying claims in the fake document suggesting otherwise “are entirely false.”
Members of the public, suppliers and contractors have been urged not to respond to such communications, make any payments, click on suspicious links or share personal, financial or business information without first verifying authenticity through official government channels.
The Ministry said all legitimate procurement notices are communicated through authorised channels, including its official website and the Eswatini Public Procurement Regulatory Agency (ESPPRA).
Anyone who has received the fraudulent RFP or any related suspicious communication has been encouraged to report the matter to the relevant authorities immediately.
