Mbabane, Eswatini – The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has introduced the Eswatini Labour Migration Policy, a framework aimed at ensuring the safe and fair treatment of Emaswati seeking work outside the country.

Labour Minister Phila Buthelezi, who officially launched the policy on Thursday, March 6, 2025, said it is designed to address the realities of labour migration while creating opportunities for workers to access jobs under secure conditions.

The policy seeks to strengthen protections for migrant workers, promote structured movement, and reduce the risks of exploitation. It also aligns with efforts to enhance economic growth by supporting Emaswati employed abroad.

Authorities say the initiative will help regulate migration processes, establish formal labour agreements, and provide assistance to workers navigating employment in foreign countries.
