ESIBAYENI – The Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development officially opened the first-ever Eswatini Local Government Conference on 4 June 2025 at Esibayeni Lodge.

The event, running until 6 June, brings together chiefs, mayors, and municipal leaders from across the country to discuss and advance the local governance system under the theme “Tinkhundla System of Government: One Country, One System of Local Government.”

Minister S’khumbuzo Dlamini said the conference marks an important step in putting Chapter XIII of Eswatini’s Constitution into action. The gathering aims to unify local government structures to improve service delivery and create a system that responds directly to community needs, reflecting the country’s traditional Tinkhundla governance approach.
