MALKERNS – Standard Bank has stepped up its support for MTN Eswatini’s 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, focusing on digital inclusion and improving community wellbeing.
Barry Schutzler, the bank’s Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, spoke at the launch this week in Malkerns. He said real change comes when organisations work together with a shared commitment to help communities grow and thrive.
This year, Standard Bank is funding solar-powered boreholes at Mbukwane and Mkhuzweni Primary Schools to provide clean water. Schutzler said this will improve the health and learning environment for pupils, as water access is a basic need too often taken for granted.
The campaign’s theme, “Connecting Communities Through Digital Platforms,” matches the bank’s efforts to bring technology and training to rural areas. Alongside water projects, partners are offering digital skills training for teachers, improving road access, and launching community podcasts.
Standard Bank’s work also supports Eswatini’s goal of expanding clean energy access and aligns with global sustainable development goals.
Schutzler urged everyone involved to keep the momentum going beyond the 21 days, saying that lasting impact depends on ongoing effort and standing with those who need help the most.
