EEC announces widespread power outages

Mbabane – The Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has scheduled planned power interruptions for Wednesday, June 11, affecting various areas across the country. These outages are necessary for routine maintenance, service connections, and construction work on electricity lines.

Power will be off from 9 AM until 4 PM in all affected localities.

Customers connected to the Siteki Depot will experience disruptions in Lubhuku, Manyeveni, Enjabulweni Schools, and Quality Engineering. In the Shiselweni region, areas serviced by the Nhlangano Depot, including Mthombe, Ekuthuleni, Zombodze MTN, and Nkulungo, are slated for outages. The Hluti Depot will see interruptions in Mahlashaneni and Mhlabuyaduma.

In the Manzini region, both Ndunayithini and KaNgcobo will be affected by work from the Manzini Depot. Additionally, Mbadlane, Gegebini, Mdumezulu, and surrounding communities are also listed for power cuts from the same depot.

Further west, the Mankayane Depot will impact Nyakatfo Schools, Lobabela Hammer Mill, Grinekar and surrounding areas, as well as Mankayane Extension 1 and the Sports Bar vicinity.

The EEC advises members of the public to treat all electricity structures as live throughout the duration of these planned interruptions for safety reasons. The company extends its apologies for any inconvenience these necessary works may cause.
