JOHANNESBURG – Orlando Pirates have been drawn against Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals of the 2025 MTN8, following confirmation by the Premier Soccer League after this weekend’s quarter-final fixtures.
The Buccaneers advanced on Saturday after beating Polokwane City 2-0 at Orlando Stadium, with new signing Oswin Appollis scoring on debut and Patrick Maswanganyi converting a penalty.
Stellenbosch FC joined them in the last four following a 3-2 win over AmaZulu at DHL Stadium on Sunday, while Sekhukhune United overturned a two-goal deficit to beat TS Galaxy 3-2 at New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Mamelodi Sundowns completed the semi-final lineup later on Sunday with a commanding 4-0 victory against Richards Bay at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.
The semi-final draw, conducted using a single bowl with four balls, paired Pirates with Sundowns in the first fixture, while Stellenbosch will take on Sekhukhune United in the second.
Both ties will be contested over two legs, with the first leg scheduled for the weekend of 16–17 August and the return fixtures set for 23–24 August. Fixtures will be played on a home-and-away basis, with kick-off times to be announced by the league.
