Tata cars set to return to South Africa

Mbabane – Indian automaker Tata Motors is preparing to re-enter the South African market, with Motus Holdings Ltd named as the exclusive distributor for its range of cars and SUVs.

The first models expected include the Tata Tiago compact hatch, the Curvv coupe hatch, the Punch compact SUV, and the mid-size Harrier SUV. These vehicles are designed to offer a mix of safety, style, and performance tailored to local conditions.

As part of its relaunch, Tata will focus on local value creation, including job opportunities in sales, service, parts distribution, and technician training. The brand is known for high safety standards, with all models achieving four- and five-star ratings under India’s New Car Safety Assessment programs.

Tata’s return aims to provide South African customers with a diverse choice of vehicles, combining innovation, performance, and reliability.
