South Africans and tourists will have an opportunity to visit some of the country’s most treasured national parks for free during the annual SANParks Week next month.
The initiative, which has become a key feature in the SANParks calendar, will run from 22 to 28 September, though some parks have adjusted dates. Entry is limited to day visitors and does not cover accommodation or paid activities.
SANParks said the initiative aims to encourage communities to connect with South Africa’s natural and cultural heritage, while also creating awareness about conservation efforts, including anti-poaching and anti-snaring campaigns.

- Kruger National Park – 21 to 26 September
- Agulhas National Park
- Bontebok National Park
- Tankwa Karoo National Park
- West Coast National Park – free until 26 September due to flower season
