MBABANE – The United States Embassy in Eswatini has announced the arrival of Marc A. Weinstock as the new Chargé d’Affaires, ad interim, who will also serve as Deputy Chief of Mission. The announcement was made on Wednesday, 13 August 2025.
Weinstock will oversee the embassy’s operations while representing Washington’s interests in Mbabane. The embassy said he looks forward to working with the Government and the people of Eswatini to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The American diplomat brings more than two decades of experience, having served with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security since 1999. His assignments include senior leadership roles in Timor-Leste and Botswana, where he also acted as Chargé d’Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission.
He has served at seven U.S. embassies across Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, as well as postings in Honolulu with the Indo-Pacific Command and the Diplomatic Security Service Resident Office.
Weinstock holds a Political Science degree from the University of Maryland and is a former U.S. Marine, adding military service to his extensive diplomatic background.
