Parys – Chery South Africa has unveiled its new Tiggo 9 SUV, loaded with advanced technology and luxury features, during a launch drive to the Vaal, PhotoStories reported. The entry-level model is priced around R835,000, with top-end versions reaching approximately R980,000.
The launch featured Africa’s first live dual-vehicle crash test in 20 years. Two Tiggo 9s collided head-on at 50 km/h with a 50% offset, showcasing airbags, crumple zones, and safety systems in action, according to PhotoStories.
PhotoStories described the Tiggo 9 as more than a standard SUV, calling it “a bigger, better cousin of your phone” with space for family and weekend supplies. Every knob, button, and digital screen was designed to offer comfort and convenience, reflecting Chery’s focus on technology, innovation, and real-world safety.
