Mbabane – MTN Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Wandile Mtshali continued his nationwide staff engagements this week, meeting with teams in Mbabane and at the company’s warehouse as part of his final interactions before leaving office.
During the sessions, Mtshali shared strategic updates and took questions from employees. Concerns over the perceived rapid depletion of Lula Combo bundles were raised, with Acting Head of Marketing Meshack Maseko clarifying that all MTN bundles deplete at the same speed of 20Mbps. He explained that special offers often provide higher value over shorter periods, while Lula Combos are structured for longer validity, which can create the impression that they finish faster. Staff were advised to use speed test applications to assist customers in understanding this.

Employees also reflected on Mtshali’s leadership. Setsabiso Dlamini from MTN Woodlands ETop Up praised the CEO for guiding the company through the COVID-19 pandemic without retrenching staff, despite widespread job losses elsewhere. He further noted the responsiveness of MTN’s leadership to customer concerns, pointing to significant data price reductions in recent years.

Mtshali later visited vendors at the Mbabane bus rank to hear directly how MTN’s products and innovations have influenced their businesses. He assured them that the company remains stable and well-positioned for the future beyond his tenure.
