Mbabane – Government officials, development partners and civil society representatives gathered this week for the closing session of the validation workshop on Eswatini’s National Evaluation Policy and the National Development Plan Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.
The two day meeting was convened by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development to review and refine the framework that will guide evidence based decision making in national development programmes.
Consultant Nokwazi Mathebula facilitated the discussions, which revisited the objectives of the proposed policy to ensure alignment with the country’s development priorities. Participants contributed their views on how the framework should empower ministries to work collectively, improve accountability and strengthen service delivery. 
The workshop placed strong attention on transparency in governance, with stakeholders agreeing that evaluation results must be used to improve policies and ensure citizens benefit from better informed planning.
As the sessions concluded, delegates welcomed the opportunity to shape a tool that will allow government to track progress, identify gaps and strengthen strategies for sustainable growth.
