Manzini – A 33 year old woman from Kakhoza has been arrested by the Royal Eswatini Police Service after E100 000 disappeared from a Manzini man’s home where she was employed.
The incident was reported by a 35 year old resident of Liqhaga flat who discovered the missing cash on 14 November. The money was reportedly set aside for his business operations. He told investigators that he suspected someone within his household had taken it, pointing to an employee he had trusted with access to the home.
Manzini police opened an investigation which led to the woman’s arrest. A search was carried out during her apprehension and officers recovered E67 000. Police revealed that the money had already been spread across several people. They found E43 000 hidden at a traditional healer’s home and another E24 000 with individuals believed to be her friends in Kakhoza. According to police sources the suspect had planned to collect the scattered amounts later once she felt it was safe.
The woman is expected to appear before the Manzini Magistrates Court today.
