Johannesburg – Gauteng authorities reported 14 cases linked to the G20 Summit, resulting in 13 arrests, according to provincial officials.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi described an incident involving two Brazilian pilots who had a dispute over fees with women they met at an entertainment venue. Police intervened and the matter was resolved after a reduced settlement was agreed upon.
Other incidents included burglary and business robberies in Sunward Park, with cases opened at Saman Park Police Station. A car hijacking attempt involving a suspect armed with a toy gun was also reported and quickly contained by police.
Lesufi thanked law enforcement agencies for their prompt response and urged continued vigilance to maintain safety during major events.
