Police in Mbabane are investigating a kidnapping reported in the Mnyamatsini area on January 3, 2026, involving a 42 year old man who was taken from his home gate by unknown assailants.
The incident happened at about 17:30 when the man was standing at his residence gate in Mnyamatsini. He was approached by four men he did not know, who forcibly seized him and drove off with him from the scene.
According to the victim’s account, the vehicle passed through Ludzeludze before turning onto a gravel road, leading him to believe he was being taken to a remote area. While being held, the suspects allegedly assaulted him and forced him to transfer E15,000 through an e wallet. 
After the money was sent, the man was left injured in a forested area. He later managed to make his way out and hired a taxi back to his home in Mbabane.
Police have opened a case and are following up on leads linked to the kidnapping and robbery, as efforts continue to locate and arrest those responsible.
