Pretoria – Three suspects in the murder of Bolt driver Isaac Satlat appeared briefly at Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Dikeledi Tears Phela, Gositsiane Machidi, and McClaren Mushwana will remain in custody while further investigations continue, with the male suspects held at SAPS Pretoria North Police Station and Phela held at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre.
The suspects face charges of murder and carjacking over the fatal attack on the 22‑year‑old Nigerian national e‑hailing driver. NPA spokesperson Mumka Mahanja explained the proceedings, noting the purpose of the brief court appearance.
Protests erupted outside the court as members of the public demanded swift justice for Satlat. Demonstrators called for accountability, reflecting widespread concern over the attack on the young driver.
The court has rescheduled the next hearing for 23 February 2026 to allow investigators to gather more evidence before the case proceeds.
