Livingstone – The Zambia Revenue Authority is hosting a five-day training on Exchange of Information on Request assessment and monitoring processes in Livingstone, bringing together tax experts from 12 countries across the globe in a bid to strengthen the international fight against cross-border tax evasion.
The training, which opened this week, is supported by the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, the leading multilateral body mandated to ensure that jurisdictions around the world adhere to and effectively implement transparency and exchange of information standards. Zambia joined the Global Forum in 2024.
Countries represented at the training are Greece, Japan, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, Tanzania, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Uganda, the United Kingdom, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The training is set to close on Friday, April 17. 
ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda officially opened the training, with his speech delivered on his behalf by ZRA Director of Tax Business Policy and Support Clive Mulendema. Banda said the gathering demonstrated a shared commitment to tackling tax evasion across borders. “By learning from each other, tax jurisdictions are able to identify areas of improvement and collectively strengthen the fight against tax evasion and illicit financial flows,” he said.
Global Forum Tax Policy Advisor Alex Nuwagira commended ZRA for hosting the training, which he said brought together a strong representation of tax expertise from across the world.
