Manzini Police Station hosted a three-day Anti-Crime Club workshop at Mjingo High School from Monday, 13 April to Wednesday, 15 April 2026, bringing together pupils and teachers to tackle a rise in criminal activity within school environments.
A total of 42 pupils drawn from both primary and high schools, along with 25 teachers, took part in the workshop, which was designed to equip Anti-Crime Club members with the knowledge and skills needed to combat crime on school grounds.
The initiative was triggered by growing concerns and reports from schools about incidents of bullying, possession of dangerous weapons, drug and substance abuse, theft and other criminal activities.
Several stakeholders joined hands with police to make the workshop possible, among them the Manzini Municipal Council, Eswatini National Youth Council, The Scout Association of Eswatini, AMICAAL, ESSACRO, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Health and the Family Life Association of Swaziland.
Separately, the Simunye Police Community Safety Unit on Wednesday engaged cane cutters from the Simunye and Tabankulu section on a range of issues including road safety, theft, domestic violence, sexual offences and general crime prevention. The lecture was held at Tabankulu Stadium.
