New Delhi – India will host the fourth India-Africa Forum Summit on May 31, 2026, in New Delhi, bringing together leaders from across the African continent, the African Union Commission and representatives from regional organisations to strengthen ties and map out future cooperation.
The announcement came on April 23, 2026, when Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar unveiled the logo, theme and website of the summit, known as IAFS-IV, at an event attended by African ambassadors and other stakeholders invested in India-Africa relations.

The summit will be held under the theme “IA SPIRIT: India Africa Strategic Partnership for Innovation, Resilience, and Inclusive Transformation,” reflecting the broad scope of the India-Africa partnership.
In the lead-up to the summit, a series of preparatory meetings will be held, including a Senior Officials Meeting on May 28 and an India-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on May 29, both of which will deliberate on key areas of cooperation.
Jaishankar pointed to several pillars of the growing partnership, including development cooperation driven by African priorities and local ownership, expanding engagement into digital technology, fintech and innovation, and deepening cooperation in the International Solar Alliance, Global Biofuels Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure and International Big Cat Alliance.

He also noted India’s consistent support for Africa’s place in global governance, demonstrated when the African Union was included in the G20 during India’s 2023 presidency, as well as India’s growing diplomatic footprint across every African region.
“Together, India and Africa are not just partners in development, we are partners in shaping a better world,” Jaishankar said.
The fourth summit is being organised in collaboration with the African Union Commission. The last edition resulted in a major expansion of Indian development assistance and capacity building programmes for Africa, and organisers say the upcoming gathering will build on that foundation while showcasing good governance and inclusive development initiatives developed over the past decade.
