Lubombo – The Eswatini National Trust Commission visited traditional leadership at Matsanjeni North Inkhundla to introduce a project aimed at turning the community’s cultural heritage, traditions and historical sites into a source of sustainable income.
The visit was part of a broader drive to position Eswatini as a leader in culture and heritage-based sustainable tourism in Southern Africa, with communities being encouraged to develop authentic tourism experiences that celebrate the Kingdom’s identity while creating lasting livelihoods.
Traditional leaders at Matsanjeni North welcomed the initiative and expressed their commitment to preserving and promoting their heritage for future generations, while also embracing the economic opportunities that come with it. 
Constituency Member of Parliament Phila Buthelezi was present at the engagement, a show of support that the ENTC said points to the importance of bringing together government, communities and heritage institutions to drive inclusive development.
