Matsanjeni – A 75-year-old grandmother who is raising nine grandchildren in a crumbling one-room house in Matsanjeni South has received food parcels and sleeping sponge from the Inyatsi Foundation and the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.
Gogo Manoma Langwenya of Kwaluseni, Matsanjeni South, lives with her daughter and nine grandchildren in a dilapidated structure with holes in the walls, where the entire family of 11 sleeps together.
When the food donation arrived, Gogo Langwenya could not contain her joy and broke into dance, a sharp contrast to last week when Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla visited the family and found her overcome with grief and hunger, unable to find words to speak. 
Deputy Prime Minister Dladla, who visited the family last Thursday, promised that a decent house would be constructed urgently before the current structure collapses.
Inyatsi Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Inyatsi Group Holdings under the leadership of Executive Chairman Michelo Shakantu, joined the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office to provide immediate relief while government processes for the construction of a new home continue.
Matsanjeni South MP Sabelo Ndlangamandla expressed gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for intervening in the situation and thanked the Inyatsi Foundation for partnering with the office to provide relief.
Nomcebo Nkomo-Nhlengetfwa, Director of the National Children’s Services Department, represented the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office at the donation and assured the family that assistance would also be provided to secure birth certificates for some of the children, which would allow them to return to school.
