Pretoria – South Africa’s Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) convened its Chairpersons’ Forum on Thursday, drawing together chairpersons from entities within the department’s portfolio to strengthen collaboration, accountability and good governance.
The forum, held under the leadership of Minister Solly Malatsi, serves as a strategic platform for reviewing organisational performance, reinforcing sound governance practices and aligning on shared priorities that support the delivery of quality services to South Africans.
The department said that by fostering collaboration between itself and its entities, it continues to build capable institutions that are responsive, transparent and focused on driving South Africa’s digital transformation agenda. 
“Together, we are strengthening governance to deliver a connected, digitally empowered and inclusive South Africa,” the department stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Mondli Gungubele addressed young creatives at the 3rd Youth Digital Media and Film Indaba, following a hands-on bootcamp that equipped participants with practical ICT and digital media skills.
He spoke on the importance of taking digital skills and opportunities beyond the cities, ensuring that young people in rural communities are equipped to participate in and shape South Africa’s growing digital economy.
