The Eswatini Institute of Management and Public Administration is conducting a four day Executive Command Leadership Retreat for His Majesty’s Correctional Services.
The retreat is being held under the theme, “Strengthening Corporate Governance for Strategic Leadership, Accountability and Organisational Excellence.”
It is intended to give senior HMCS leaders an opportunity to review their responsibilities, strengthen institutional capacity and prepare for the implementation of the organisation’s Strategic Plan for 2026 to 2031.
EIMPA said effective public sector leadership requires more than technical knowledge.
It also requires leaders who can turn strategic plans into measurable results, apply sound corporate governance, manage institutional performance, identify risks early and guide organisational change.
During the programme, EIMPA will facilitate sessions on corporate governance, organisational performance, strategic planning and performance management.
The sessions will include practical exercises, discussions and leadership reflection designed to help the Executive Command apply the lessons within the correctional services environment.
The programme seeks to help HMCS leaders set clear commitments, establish measurable targets and improve the institution’s ability to deliver on its mandate.
EIMPA said the retreat is also intended to strengthen teamwork within the leadership structure and support a more performance driven approach across the organisation.
The programme is expected to conclude with specific leadership commitments and priority actions that can guide implementation and future performance monitoring.
