Ezulwini – The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) has introduced a new automated process for temporary importation applications as part of its ongoing efforts to improve digital services and make trade procedures more efficient.
The new system was presented to importers, clearing agents and other stakeholders during an engagement session held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The session was organised to introduce stakeholders to the Automated Temporary Importation Application Process and familiarise them with how the new online platform will operate. 
During the engagement, participants were taken through the platform and its main features, including the electronic submission of applications, real time status updates and improved visibility of application progress.
The system is intended to simplify the process of obtaining temporary importation authorisations by reducing administrative procedures and giving clients greater visibility over the progress of their applications.
For the ERS, the platform is expected to improve the processing of temporary importation requests while providing a more streamlined experience for both taxpayers and the revenue authority.
The new process forms part of the ERS digital transformation programme, which seeks to modernise revenue administration and improve the delivery of services to taxpayers and other stakeholders.
The revenue authority said the initiative also supports legitimate trade by making importation procedures more predictable while encouraging voluntary compliance.
