Manzini – Young Emaswati have been invited to develop innovative solutions to environmental, economic and community challenges following the launch of the MTN Eswatini Pachi Panda Challenge 2026.
The challenge was officially launched on Friday at Happy Valley Hotel by Acting Minister of Information, Communications and Technology Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, who urged young people across the Kingdom to use technology and creativity to address challenges affecting their communities and the economy.
The initiative provides a platform for young innovators to transform their ideas into practical solutions that can contribute to a greener and more sustainable Eswatini. 
The challenge covers several areas considered critical to the country’s sustainable development, including food security, climate resilient agriculture, water security, restoration of natural ecosystems, sustainable energy and circular economy solutions.
Dlamini said digital transformation and the development of the green economy should advance together, pointing to technology, digital platforms, smart systems and data as important tools for developing sustainable solutions and opening new economic opportunities.
“Your country needs your ideas. Your communities need your creativity.”
The Acting Minister also encouraged aspiring innovators not to wait until they had perfected every aspect of their ideas before taking action.
He urged them to identify problems within their communities, develop possible solutions, work with others, test their ideas and take part in the challenge.
Following the launch, Dlamini officially opened applications for the MTN Eswatini Pachi Panda Challenge 2026.
Young innovators from across the Kingdom have been encouraged to submit their ideas and participate in efforts aimed at building a greener, more resilient and prosperous Eswatini.
The initiative carries the call: “Innovate. Create. Participate.”
