MBABANE – Suzuki has officially launched its all-new DZire sedan in Southern Africa, including Eswatini, marking a major design shift and updated pricing for buyers looking for compact practicality with added boot space.

This latest DZire model, which was first revealed late last year in India, is no longer based on the Swift’s exterior styling, breaking from the design of previous generations. It now sports a unique look while remaining on the same Heartect platform as the Swift.

The new model is slightly taller than its predecessor and features a significantly larger boot — 382 litres compared to the Swift’s 265 litres — making it more appealing for families and commuters in need of more luggage capacity.

Local buyers will have access to three models under two trim levels — GA and GL+ — with pricing starting at E224,900 for the base model and climbing to E266,900 for the top-spec automatic version.

Under the bonnet, all models come with Suzuki’s new three-cylinder 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine delivering 60kW and 112Nm. While a five-speed manual gearbox is standard across the range, the higher GL+ version offers a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) as an alternative.

Inside the DZire: A modern cabin featuring a 7-inch infotainment system, digital air controls, and USB ports for convenient everyday driving.

Inside, all models are fitted with modern essentials like LED headlights, digital air-conditioning displays, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster, type-C and type-A USB ports, front armrest, and electric windows all around.

For safety, Suzuki has included six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), rear parking sensors, Hill Hold Assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

Seven exterior colours are available, including Magma Grey, Gallant Red, Arctic White, and Nutmeg Brown.

Each model is sold with a five-year/200,000 km warranty and a four-year/60,000 km service plan as standard.
