MBABANE – Thursday, June 12, 2025 – Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has extended Eswatini’s condolences to the people of South Africa following deadly floods that claimed at least 57 lives in the Eastern Cape.
Speaking on behalf of His Majesty King Mswati III, Her Majesty the Queen Mother, the Government and the people of Eswatini, the Prime Minister expressed sorrow over the loss of life and the widespread damage caused by the natural disaster.
“Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by this disaster,” said Dlamini in a statement issued from Mbabane on Thursday.
The Prime Minister also commended the emergency personnel and volunteers who have been working around the clock to rescue survivors and support displaced residents across the province.
As the scale of the devastation unfolds, Dlamini said Eswatini remains in prayer for the people of South Africa and urged them to draw strength from unity and compassion during this difficult period.
