Mbabane — Prominent businessman Mxolisi ‘Waxola’ Mabuza escaped an assassination attempt on Wednesday night when unknown attackers fired multiple shots at his car.
The incident occurred around 10:30pm near the entrance to Mabuza’s home in the Ngculwini area. According to sources, the assailants were lying in wait and opened fire as Mabuza’s vehicle approached the homestead.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the attackers or a motive for the shooting. No injuries beyond minor scratches to Mabuza have been reported, and investigations are ongoing. 
Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in apprehending those responsible for targeting one of Eswatini’s well-known business figures.
