ANTANANARIVO, MADAGASCAR – Zimbabwe’s President Dr. Emmerson Mnangagwa called on SADC and African leaders to support his country in addressing Western sanctions, which he described as obstacles to regional prosperity.
Speaking at the 45th Ordinary SADC Summit yesterday, President Mnangagwa urged collective action to push for the unconditional removal of sanctions on Zimbabwe. He noted that the measures not only affect his country but also limit opportunities for economic growth and development across the region.
The President highlighted Zimbabwe’s willingness to engage with progressive international partners to promote mutual respect and sustainable development. His remarks resonate with Eswatini’s longstanding commitment to regional solidarity and cooperation among SADC member states.
President Mnangagwa specifically called on His Majesty King Mswati III and other SADC leaders to unite in demanding the lifting of these sanctions to enhance prosperity across Southern Africa.
