Ministers praise Hlathikhulu hospital for drug management

Hlathikhulu – Two cabinet ministers visited Hlathikhulu Government Hospital on Monday afternoon and expressed satisfaction with the facility’s management of medical supplies and patient care.

Minister of Commerce Manqoba Khumalo and Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima toured the hospital after an invitation from the Ministry of Health for Cabinet to assess the state of health facilities across the country.

The visit revealed that the hospital’s drug stock level currently stands at 85 percent. Both ministers said they were encouraged by this figure and by the absence of serious complaints about customer service from patients.

The purpose of the visit was to gain a first-hand understanding of healthcare service delivery, challenges and opportunities at different levels of care. Attention was given to drug and supply availability, human resources, equipment, and infrastructure.

The ministers assured staff and management of continued government support to improve service delivery and strengthen infrastructure at Hlathikhulu Hospital.
