Auditor General’s supervisors get management skills training

Matsapha – The Eswatini Institute of Management and Public Administration (EIMPA) run supervisory management skills course kicked off today at the Kwaluseni Campus, targeting new in-office supervisors from the Office of the Auditor General following their promotions.

The Ministry of Public Service posted an update on social media advising that the learners are expected to attend classes in-person for the duration of this week, 13–17 July.

The management skills programme is designed to equip participants with the leadership, communication and people management competencies required to effectively lead teams, enhance workplace performance and promote accountability in the public service.

What you can learn from the programme

Information sources online stated that learners can equip themselves in a variety of topics, including conflict resolution, performance management and mentorship, as the course can help them uncover their leadership styles. Here are some of the areas:

  • Leadership and Management Styles: One can identify and adapt a personal leadership style, which is suitable for someone who has just been doing the job and is transitioning into the area of managing people. 
  • Conflict Resolution: Learners can be equipped with solving conflicts and handling disputes in the workplace. 
  • Communication, active listening: How to develop the ability to give clear instructions at all organisational levels with constructive feedback. 
  • Performance management: Setting actionable performance goals through performance appraisals.
