Inkhosikati LaNtentesa joins global children’s initiative

NEW YORK – Inkhosikati LaNtentesa joined United States First Lady Melania Trump and other spouses of world leaders on Tuesday for the launch of Fostering the Future Together, a new global coalition focused on children’s welfare through education and technology.

The event took place during the 80th United Nations General Assembly and brought together First Ladies and representatives to push for opportunities for young people in the digital age. Inkhosikati LaNtentesa represented Eswatini, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to equipping its youth for a technology-driven future.

Melania Trump explained that the coalition’s mission is to ensure that every child thrives in a digital era. She said technology is saving lives, widening access to knowledge, and connecting people across the globe. “Great minds have turned marbles into microchips, paper aeroplanes into drones and kites into satellites,” she said, urging leaders to prepare the next generation to use technology to transform daily life.

The coalition plans to prioritise children’s personal development, unify efforts in education and technology, and work with private partners to expand access to artificial intelligence, robotics and blockchain. The first follow-up meeting will be hosted at the White House in early 2026.

Eswatini’s involvement ties into the country’s national strategy to improve digital literacy and promote innovation in schools. Inkhosikati LaNtentesa’s participation is also expected to create opportunities for rural communities that have limited access to technology.
