Isuzu adds Onyx Black option to D-Max V-Cross and AT35

Gqeberha – ISUZU Motors South Africa has broadened its flagship D-Max line-up with the introduction of a metallic Onyx Black finish for the V-Cross and the Arctic Trucks AT35 models, following strong customer demand for darker, premium styling options.

Kevin Fouché, Department Executive for Product Planning at Isuzu Motors South Africa, said interest surged after the MU-X Onyx XT and the D-Max X-Rider Black reached the market, prompting the brand to extend the colour option to its top-tier bakkies.

The V-Cross, positioned as the most luxurious model in the D-Max range, caters to buyers seeking refinement and capability. It is available as a High Ride 4×2 and as a 4×4 for drivers who regularly explore off-road terrain.

The AT35, built in partnership with Arctic Trucks, is assembled at Isuzu’s Struandale plant in Gqeberha. The bakkie undergoes specialised modifications in a dedicated conversion area where artisans reshape wheel arches and bodywork to accommodate 35-inch tyres and a strengthened suspension system. Production of the AT35 remains limited and each unit is available only through special order.

Both the V-Cross and the AT35 share Isuzu’s 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, producing 140kW and 450Nm, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission designed for smooth shifts and good fuel efficiency.

The Onyx Black addition forms part of the company’s product enhancement strategy aimed at offering more personalised choices and distinctive styling to customers looking for vehicles that reflect their ambitions and lifestyles.

All models in the D-Max range are sold with a five-year/90,000 km service plan, a five-year/120,000 km warranty with roadside assistance, and a five-year, unlimited-distance anti-corrosion warranty. Service intervals are set at 15,000 km or 12 months.
