Piggs Peak Town Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BSA Training Centre, kicking off a partnership aimed at equipping young people from the area with skills and training opportunities to improve their chances in the job market.
The signing took place at the start of a Job Preparedness Workshop that brought together young people from across the Piggs Peak Inkhundla for a day packed with practical guidance, career advice and conversations about entrepreneurship and self-employment.
Beyond job readiness, the workshop opened discussions around starting a business and how young people can access funding through initiatives such as the Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund. Participants also received hands-on guidance on CV writing, career planning and support for EYEP training applications.
The workshop was facilitated by Mrs Yeal from Likusasa Letfu, Dr Happiness Dlamini from SIMPA, Mr B Nhlengethwa from the Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund and Mr Simelane, a Legal and Project Manager, all of whom shared their expertise with the young attendees.
