Baku – His Majesty King Mswati III met with senior executives of SOCAR-KBR Limited Liability Company in Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday to discuss potential areas of cooperation with Eswatini.
SOCAR-KBR is a joint venture between Azerbaijan’s state oil company, SOCAR, and global engineering company KBR, providing services in engineering and design, project management, construction supervision, oil and gas infrastructure development, and energy and industrial consultancy. The company mainly works on major oil, gas, petrochemical, and energy projects in Azerbaijan and the wider region.
His Majesty, accompanied by Inkhosikati LaMashwama, also visited the Baku Higher Oil School, where the institution’s Director, Mr Elmar Gasimov, led them on a guided tour of the facilities. During the visit, His Majesty addressed students and later signed the visitors’ book.
As part of his official visit to Azerbaijan for the 13th World Urban Forum, His Majesty also toured ASAN Xidmet, a technologically advanced one-stop centre that provides integrated government services to the public.
During the visit to ASAN Xidmet, His Majesty witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Eswatini and the institution. The MOU was signed by Minister of Information Communication and Technology Savannah Maziya on behalf of Eswatini.
