Mbabane – The Border Determination Special Committee convened at the Hilton Hotel yesterday to brief key government ministries on its mandate and strategic priorities, as authorities work to strengthen coordination on border management and the welfare of emaSwati living in South Africa.
The committee, chaired by Prince Mgebiseni Dlamini, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
During the engagement, the committee outlined its role in advancing border delimitation, management, and cooperation, while also addressing emerging challenges in these areas. 
Key areas identified for collaboration include strengthening diplomatic engagement with neighbouring countries, enhancing border governance frameworks, and improving coordination on migration matters.
The meeting was also aimed at reinforcing inter-ministerial cooperation to ensure a coordinated national approach to meeting the cultural and social needs of emaSwati based in South Africa.
Further engagements between the committee and stakeholder ministries are expected as work continues to advance the interests of all emaSwati.
