Washington D.C., April 24 — Eswatini’s Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Dr. Thambo Gina, has taken part in this year’s IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington D.C., where global leaders are meeting to tackle major economic challenges and chart a path to job creation.
Dr. Gina was joined by Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg and other senior government officials at the annual gathering, which brings together ministers, central bank governors, and key economic stakeholders from around the world.
The 2025 meetings are focused on the theme “Jobs – The Path to Prosperity,” reflecting the growing urgency to create meaningful employment as a strategy for economic growth and poverty reduction. Discussions have zeroed in on how to generate better job opportunities, especially for young people and marginalized groups. 
Delegates are also engaging in high-level conversations about private sector engagement, debt sustainability, and structural reforms aimed at building more resilient economies. Sessions have explored how international financial institutions like the IMF and World Bank can adapt their roles to support inclusive development in an increasingly unpredictable global landscape.
