MBABANE — April 29, 2025 — The Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, through the Department of Meteorology’s Climate Change Unit, convened a stakeholder breakfast meeting this morning in Mbabane to drive the revision of Eswatini’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0).
Held in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the session brought together local business leaders and representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to discuss Eswatini’s climate action priorities. The initiative forms part of the country’s ongoing efforts to meet its commitments under the Paris Agreement.
Stakeholders explored how national development plans can be aligned with stronger climate targets, especially in areas like renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and climate finance. Participants also looked at how the NDC revision process could open new opportunities for local investment, job creation, and resilience-building.
