SIGUDUMA – An urgent search is underway for eight-year-old Tifezile Gwebu, who was abducted by an unknown man on Wednesday, 21 May 2025, in Siguduma, a quiet area near Sihlutse.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) issued a public alert late Wednesday night, urging anyone with information on the child’s whereabouts to come forward without delay. According to police, Tifezile was last seen in the company of an unidentified man shortly before she disappeared.
Shiselweni Regional Crime Branch Officer (RCBO), Assistant Superintendent Vusie Junior Dlamini, confirmed that efforts to locate the girl have been intensified, and officers are working with community members in and around Siguduma. “We are following all leads and urging the public to help. Even the smallest detail could assist in this investigation,” he said.
Residents in the area have been asked to report any unusual activity they may have observed on the day of the incident. Police say someone may have witnessed something without realising its significance.

Tifezile is described as a cheerful and friendly child known to many in the Siguduma area. Her sudden disappearance has left the community in distress, with neighbours and family members joining the search effort.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Assistant Superintendent Dlamini at 7606 7447, Sergeant D. Zwane at the Hluthi Police Station on 7608 6531, or dial emergency numbers 999, 9999, or 112.
