A Peculiar People, a local event management agency, has opened nominations for the 2025 Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards. The awards, in partnership with the Pick n Pay Made in Eswatini Buy Local Campaign, aim to recognise top local brands chosen by consumers.
The ceremony will take place on 25 July 2025 and will honour brands based on consumer preference, product quality, and market impact. Nominations opened on 24 May and close on 14 June. Consumers across Eswatini can submit entries via WhatsApp at +268 7871 8970, making participation accessible especially at grassroots level.
To qualify, products must be made in Eswatini, legally registered, trading, have a clear brand identity, and be traceable on digital media.
An adjudication panel of industry experts and business leaders will be announced on 4 June to oversee a transparent evaluation process.
Nominated products may also be considered for shelf placement at Pick n Pay stores nationwide, expanding their market reach through the Buy Local Campaign. Mario Fernandes of Pick n Pay Eswatini confirmed the company’s commitment to supporting local brands.
Eswatini Retail Solutions (ERS) Managing Director Paula Marques explained that ERS provides sales, distribution, warehousing, and merchandising services to help local producers move products from production to retail shelves.
Select nominees will feature on the upcoming madeineswatini e-commerce platform, broadening online access to local products.
Furthermore, only Made in Eswatini vendors will be allowed to sell food and beverages at the Unlock Everything Business Seminar, gaining free access to seminar content with a trade space reservation fee.
Consumers who attended the recent Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair are encouraged to nominate their favourite brands as the awards seek to boost visibility and growth for local enterprises.
